seven weeks... sept semaines!

Some photos from Michel taken today. Océanne seems much more aware of her surroundings this week... sucking on her hands... holding her head up a bit... cooing, chirping and smiling here and there! She had a big Sunday, finally meeting Michel, Heather, Lisa, Guy, Sigrid, Marc, Damara, and Quinn!

man, it's hot today! chaud, il fait chaud, siesta time!

6 week stats: 9lbs; 50% percentile for height, weight and head circumference... Our little girl is very proportioned!

Après 6 semaines notre petite Océanne pèse désormais 4,1 kg, et mesure 55 cm. En plein dans la norme.

sleeping under the stars...

We took a brief trip just past Napa to beautiful *clothing optional* Harbin Hot Springs... Océanne seemed to enjoy a night of camping in a meadow under a magnificent full moon, she slept very well! The three of us were pretty cozy packed in our backpacker's tent, still covered in playa dust from Burning Man, I guess we'll need to eventually upsize... The pools felt great, Ben and I tag-teamed holding Océanne in the shade while one of us relaxed in the water... We can already tell she's into the great outdoors!

six weeks, planting the placenta!

We celebrated Ben's first Father's Day by planting my placenta with a beautiful little meyer lemon tree for Océanne. We're keeping it in a pot so we can take it with us someday and eventually put it in the ground. The freezer is finally meat-free again! It was amazing to actually take a good look at what was her life line while in utero, but our stomachs will be much happier looking at a lovely lemon tree!

Se préparer pour le bain...

On Saturday, Océanne and her parents took the ferry to San Francisco. Beautiful weather, great vues, a nice little adventure.

one month, mon petit poussin

One month... it doesn't seem possible! Lots of little changes every day. Océanne is constantly making us laugh, she's such a character already. Her cheeks and legs are getting nice and chubby, she loves to sigh (the cutest noise I've ever heard), is working very hard to get her thumb in her mouth, and is mastering baby bridge pose... always arching her tiny back. We feel very lucky to have such a mellow little girl and such a good sleeper! She especially likes a certain "lullaby" also known as the theme song from Weeds... little boxes, little boxes... it works!
