summery sunday in september...

We had a nice mellow Sunday... Sarah, Todd and Anna came over for brunch, then O had a 3 hour nap, so Ben went surfing and I did a little work. We had one last photo shoot of this cute summer outfit we bought in Paris last winter, it definitely won't fit her next year! Little Océanne is so good and tolerates her camera-crazy mom...

Monti, 7 weeks old!







What a gorgeous and fun day at Tilden Park in Berkeley! We met up with fellow vegetarians, Cathy and Freddie for a day at the Little Farm followed by a picnic. Océanne had never been so close to goats, sheep and calves (except for our hooved neighbors in France, cozy inside for the winter)... not to mention all the feathered friends clucking around. O was completely freaked out when feeding the animals, but Freddie is a seasoned pro. What a great place, so well-maintained, and *free*! Just make sure you bring plenty of celery and lettuce, all other foods are verboten!

Cole, the Viking


Just after dinner and right before bed, we went down to the water for a very special event... Frederik, Marcie and Cole christened their new boat: The Oceanne! We had champagne at sunset while fog horns blew in the background (San Francisco was socked in). She's a beauty and will end up in the Caribbean... O loves the idea of her namesake sailing around the beautiful, warm blue water and hopes "The Oceanne" will make a special trip to the land of Reggae: Jamaica, mon!

girl's weekend: santa cruz!

O and I loaded up our beach gear and headed south to see Claudia in Santa Cruz! Ben was still in China, so we had a fun girl's weekend down the coast. I hadn't seen Claudia (our favorite hoopgirl and children's book author: "Meerkat's Safari") since Burning Man '07 (when I was pregnant)...we had alot of catching up to do!

She officially says "mommy" now, ahhh! We had a week-long phase of Océanne calling me "nanny!" (pronounced: nah-nee) Not exactly what you want to hear from your baby, especially when you're a full-time, work-at-home mom with no hired help (such as a nanny)! The real thing is music to my ears :)

O loves her Teva's... and I still melt whenever I look at them. I remember seeing these years ago, thinking they were *way* too cute and unbelievably small. Now they look like "big girl" shoes to me (size 2-3)!!

The cousins went for a little stroll in Tennessee Valley this morning, it's hard to believe it was 90-some degrees yesterday! Anna was in and out of the BOB, so it was definitely a nice slow stroll!
