the calm before the storm!

We seemed to time our trip to North Carolina just right this year! We missed the heat-wave, and left just 2 days before Hurricane Irene roared into town... With no humidity, a high of 82-84 degrees, and a couple of afternoon thunderstorms in between, I would call that a slice of Southern Summer Heaven! It's ok that we also had a tornado warning and earthquake during our visit... which natural disaster did I miss?

So just who is the captain on this boat?! A beautiful day along the intracoastal... although I must warn you, with O behind the wheel, dramamine is a good idea... She likes to turn the wheel and do doughnuts, leaving a smooth "O" in the water, her signature move!

Lots of hugging and giggling with O's cousins Luke and Emily, and of course a visit to see Uncle Frank's Khoi pond and the infamous Whitey!

the baby nursery...

I just love this game. We emptied out some little plastic drawers and made a "baby nursery" in O's room. Océanne feeds the babies, gives them medicine and plays lullabies with her little jewelry box while she watches them nap... it's too cute... and so peaceful... she's a very nurturing little girl :)

Go Team Boga! We went to Lake Tahoe for a SUP race this weekend... Ben took first place in his category! A beautiful weekend and a chance to visit with our mountain friends.

New helmet, big girl bike... Océanne's getting ready for Le Tour! Look at that determination (hmmm... les chiens ne font pas des chats). I'm still trying to figure out when my baby turned into such a little girl?! Note: Chinese Silk Dress is still her #1 active wear choice!
