The 3 cousins + me for the weekend = piece of cake ;) Sarah and Todd were at a wedding, Ben was at Interbike... All the gals had lots of fun! *As content as she may appear, Océanne ended up sleeping with Mommy!

la rentrée, first day of preschool!

Océanne was so excited to get ready in her new outfit and sparkly shoes, and happy to be there! It helps that she had her good friend Chloe by her side :) She also knew 5 other fellow students which is a nice start! The room was all set, with her photo above her little coat hook and where to put her lunch bag. We had dropped off blankie, pillow, kitty, etc. yesterday for naptime... Her teachers made us feel very welcome. My heart is especially full today, my baby is going to school...

the calm before the storm!

We seemed to time our trip to North Carolina just right this year! We missed the heat-wave, and left just 2 days before Hurricane Irene roared into town... With no humidity, a high of 82-84 degrees, and a couple of afternoon thunderstorms in between, I would call that a slice of Southern Summer Heaven! It's ok that we also had a tornado warning and earthquake during our visit... which natural disaster did I miss?

So just who is the captain on this boat?! A beautiful day along the intracoastal... although I must warn you, with O behind the wheel, dramamine is a good idea... She likes to turn the wheel and do doughnuts, leaving a smooth "O" in the water, her signature move!

Lots of hugging and giggling with O's cousins Luke and Emily, and of course a visit to see Uncle Frank's Khoi pond and the infamous Whitey!
