Annie and I met rafting the Katun River in Siberia... Who would have known that 4 years and a couple Burning Mans later we'd have two precious little girls only six months apart! We took Sadie and O for a nice afternoon stroll in the headlands yesterday... somehow we managed to stear clear of the San Francisco summer fog!
Océanne decided after dinner tonight that she's ready to walk! For some reason she has chosen the hard tile floor in the kitchen for her first steps, yikes... Ben and I think that maybe she was saving this for my birthday (which is also today)! I can't think of a better present!
Thursday we loaded up two Yuba Mundos and hit the bike trail to Tiburon to catch a ferry to Angel Island! Océanne has been on the bike a few times, but this was her first cycling adventure. It felt like we had the entire island to ourself... nice to beat the Memorial Day crowds! Funny to realize that we were actually sleeping not even two miles across the water from our house... a quiet refuge in the middle of the San Francisco Bay!
Our Marin Mother's Group had a great group *1 year* birthday party on Sunday (all the babies born in May/June '08). Danny hosted at her beautiful home in Muir Beach... what a treat to have seen all these moms and babies grow together the past year, such a resource for new moms too. It was fun to see everyone after being away all winter, new teeth, more hair and even a few walkers in the bunch. Such a gorgeous day for all the moms, babies, dogs and dads!! Danny's father (a bookmaker) made us each a beautiful card with all the baby names and birth dates inside along with this poem, a sweet keepsake for this pretty amazing first year... Another day, another walker to push...
